In the mid 90's, springing out of Camden Town in London came Out of My Hair. Fronted by Comfort (Simon Eugene) with Kenny Rumbles, Sean Elliot and George Muranyi forming the basis of the band, OOMH produced some classic singles like Mr Jones and In the Groove Again.

Their one and only album release on RCA Records was Drop the Roof, a melodic psychedelic pop delight and the band toured round the world supporting the likes of David Bowie and Radiohead among others.

They were particularly successful in the Far East where Comfort was given his own Manga Cartoon Strip as Comfort the Spirit of Music. Championed strongly by the likes of Marc Radcliffe on Radio 1 and Janis Long on Radio London, Out of my Hair's music was maybe a bit to sensitive for the times, and in 1996 Comfort split the band and carried on as a solo artist, with Kenny and George still in tow, adding Paul Stacey and Jerry Meehan to the live set up.

The band decamped to Spain with producer Chris Kimsey and engineer Chris Potter to produce the classic album God is in the Detail. However RCA never quite got their heads around Comfort's music although they were also staunch supporters of the band and the two parted ways in 1998.

Setting up the label Insoucience Records, Comfort and his erstwhile manager of the time Stewart Halperin carried on putting out records and the Proof of You was a huge radio hit in the late 90's. They signed a new deal with Oyster Records in 1998 but the label went bust before they could release God is in the Detail. Slightly disillusioned Comfort started the fantastic In the Line of Fire acoustic clubs, hosting and supporting acts such as Damien Rice, Johnny Borrell for Razorlight and the the currently very successful Ben (Mr) Hudson.

In 2005 Comfort formed the band the International Love Corporation which was a live band with no fixed line up & played gigs with no rehearsals. They made one album, The Experimental Shape of Happiness before Comfort, now using his original name Simon Eugene, decamped to India to make a film a about Love, a project that sees its first fruition in the wonderful film Love and the Art of Giving.

Now living in Berlin, the International Love Corporation as a band will be up and running again this year. Here on this website now, and for the first time available, are all the Out of my Hair recordings with more to follow and extra video clips. Many tracks can be downloaded for free and people interested in purchasing albums can do so on a donation basis. Please see Love and the Art of Giving to see more of what this philosophy is about.
